I am William Ingram, a Level 1 Certified trainer here at Muddy Water CrossFit. I served 4 years as an active duty infantryman in the United States Army beginning in 2005, which included 2 deployments to Iraq. After my active service I joined the Army National Guard in 2009, and am now an E-5/SGT. Though I had some background with Powerlifting, I was first introduced to CrossFit in 2008 when my unit began incorporating it into our daily physical training routine after returning from deployment. Shortly after, my active service ended and I moved to Cape Girardeau to pursue a college education and a career in criminal justice.
In January of 2012 I began my career at USP Marion as a correction’s officer. While back in my regular weightlifting routine I felt something was missing. In December of 2012 I convinced my wife to give up the global gym and try out CrossFit. That was when we stepped in the door to Muddy Water and haven’t looked back since. Over the next few years I gained so much knowledge and achieved so many personal goals inside the box. In April I decided to go for my Level I certification to further my education and knowledge of CrossFit and to help others achieve the same things I did. Helping fellow members grow, learn, and reach goals has taught me just as much about myself and pushes me to be a better coach every time I step into the box. I am beyond excited to meet every new member and impact as many people as I can.
